Our Beliefs

ABOUT THE BIBLE

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.

(2nd Timothy 3:16; 2nd Peter 1:21)

ABOUT GOD

We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God.

(Gen. 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1st Peter 1:2,11; 2nd Corinthians 13:14)

ABOUT JESUS

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.

(Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1st Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1st Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13)

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal to the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation, guides us into all truth, glorifies Jesus and convicts of sin, righteousness and judgement.  He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and empowers us for service.

(2nd Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1st Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1)

ABOUT SALVATION

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation cannot be earned, it is a gift from God.

(Acts 4:12, 13:38-39; 1st Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:4-5, 5:1; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 1:4-5)
